Current AI tools to create, publish and host websites
AI can now do far more than draft a homepage. The better tools can turn a plain-language brief into a working site, revise it conversationally, connect a domain, deploy a live URL, and in some cases add databases, authentication, or server-side logic. The practical question is not simply “Which AI builds the prettiest page?” It is whether the service can carry your project from idea to a reliable public website—and how much control you retain after launch.
This guide focuses on tools that are usable now and that have a real route to publishing or hosting. Prices below are public list prices or starting points, reviewed November 2026. AI-message, token, traffic, storage, and domain usage can increase total cost, so treat every plan as a starting point and recheck the provider’s live pricing before buying.
What has become publicly usable
Vercel’s v0 entered public beta in October 2023 and opened more broadly that December. Replit Agent launched in early access for Core subscribers in September 2024. Bolt.new debuted at ViteConf in October 2024, and Lovable launched in November 2024. ChatGPT Sites entered public beta in 2026 for eligible ChatGPT plans and workspaces. These dates matter because the market is moving quickly: product names, limits, and plan terms change more often than traditional hosting packages.
AI builders with creation, publishing, and hosting paths
| Tool | Public availability | Creation, publishing & hosting | Starting price | Primary limitations to weigh |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Sites | 2026 public beta | Prompt-driven sites and lightweight apps; preview, publish, public sharing, custom domains, and supported site storage. | Eligible ChatGPT plans required. Hosting is included during beta through Dec. 31, 2026; 2027 use is planned to draw from plan allowances/credits. | Not available on Free/Go; plan and workspace controls vary; advanced external payments, email sending, and arbitrary third-party backend services need additional setup. |
| Bolt.new | Oct. 2024 | Prompt-to-app building with Bolt Cloud, databases, deployment, a free bolt.host URL, and paid custom-domain support. | Free tier; Pro from $25/mo monthly. Hosting and request limits are plan-based. | Token budgets can be consumed quickly on large revisions; free sites carry Bolt branding; advanced production work still needs testing, code review, and usage planning. |
| Lovable | Nov. 2024 | Chat-built websites/apps with design, content, forms, SEO, one-click publishing, and custom-domain options. | Free public-project entry point; paid plans use credits for building and cloud features. Check the live plan for current included credits. | Credit use varies by task; privacy and project-visibility settings deserve review; complex app logic and compliance work may require a developer handoff. |
| Replit Agent | Sep. 2024 early access | Agent can build and deploy apps; platform includes hosting, databases, auth, monitoring, and collaborative workspaces. | Free mode; Core is about $20/mo monthly or lower with annual billing. Compute/deployment usage can add cost. | More app-platform than simple site builder; production deployments and AI usage can be usage-based; a clearer technical brief helps the agent produce safer results. |
| v0 + Vercel | Oct. 2023 beta; broad beta Dec. 2023 | Generates interfaces and full-stack apps from prompts; deploys to Vercel with global hosting, previews, and domain support. | Free tier; individual paid plans start around $20/mo. Vercel hosting and higher usage may be separate. | Best fit for people comfortable with React/Next.js conventions; AI credits and Vercel usage are distinct considerations; moving away from Vercel may require more technical work. |
How AI publishing compares with conventional hosting
| Approach | Typical monthly starting point | Better for | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI all-in-one builder | $0–$25+, plus AI credits or usage | Fast prototypes, landing pages, internal tools, and teams that want one workspace for build-to-publish. | Limits can be tied to prompts, tokens, traffic, or the provider’s platform; portability and custom integrations vary. |
| Shared / WordPress hosting | About $4–$15 introductory; often $10–$30 at renewal | Content sites, plugins, and owners who want a long-established CMS ecosystem. | You handle themes, plugin conflicts, updates, backups, security, and often the site build itself. |
| Static hosting | $0–$20, plus a domain | Fast marketing sites, documentation, portfolios, and code owners who value performance and portability. | A developer or separate AI coding workflow is usually needed to create and maintain the site; forms and databases require extra services. |
| Managed agency / developer | $50–$500+ care plan, often after a $1,000–$10,000+ build | Custom brand work, complex integrations, compliance, and ongoing expert support. | Highest cost and slower turnaround, although human accountability is valuable for business-critical websites. |
Where AI is genuinely better—and where it is not
AI tools are better at compressing the first 80% of a small website: the brief, page structure, starter copy, visual directions, responsive layout, code scaffolding, and deployment. They lower the cost of trying an idea. A good prompt can produce a credible prototype in an afternoon rather than waiting weeks for a first mockup. Many also give non-developers a practical editing loop: ask for a change, review it, and publish when it is ready.
They are not a substitute for ownership decisions. Check whether you can export code and data, who controls the domain, how secrets are stored, what happens when a plan changes, and how forms or payments are protected. Treat AI-generated code like work from a fast junior teammate: useful and often impressive, but still worth testing for accessibility, mobile behavior, analytics, privacy, and security before you make promises to customers.
